St. Joseph, Shirebrook

with St. Bernadette's, Bolsover.

We hope that you will find it interesting and helpful. We try to give you a picture of the life of our parish, past and present.

Our parish consists of the two market towns of Shirebrook and Bolsover, situated four miles apart on the Derbyshire/Nottinghamshire border. Both towns were once thriving mining communities but, with the pits now closed, today’s generation is looking at new horizons through the regeneration programmes which are now beginning to bear fruit.
